View harvest summary.

A harvest summary can now be displayed to show additional information about the harvested germplasm and its source. This can be accessed in the Harvest Data tab after harvesting a plot/cross. The harvest summary is available both for successful and failed harvests.

Easily provide harvest data.

In the harvest data tab, you can now expect a quicker and easier way to provide harvest data for plots/crosses. Only the relevant data fields will be enabled and required, depending on the experiment type, as well as the state and type of germplasm to be harvested. Options in the drop-down menu will also be limited to those applicable for the current plot/cross to be harvested.

Additionally, the crossing date can now be easily provided via a calendar widget.

Only new seed lots and packages are created when harvesting DCP materials that are not yet fixed.

EBS now support harvest use cases for Dryland Crop Programs (DCP) that include sorghum, chickpea and groundnut, to name a few. Users can now expect that DCP materials with germplasm state of NOT FIXED, which were already used and harvested in previous seasons, should only create new seed lot and package records when harvested using the bulk method again.

Harvest F3 generations using bulk method for cowpea and soybean.

F3 cowpea and soybean belonging to any type and whose state is not_fixed can now be harvested using the Bulk method. In the Harvest Data tab, provide the harvest date and select Bulk as the harvest method. Commit and Create the harvest to generate records whose generations are F4 with germplasm state of Fixed.

Expect to see updated germplasm names for harvest records.

When harvesting plots for an occurrence whose germplasm name was updated in an earlier experiment, you can now expect that the new germplasm name is correctly reflected in the resulting harvest records when the same germplasm is harvested again, along with new package and seed records.

Harvested crosses now reflect correct origin.

Origin is a germplasm attribute viewable when clicking the newly-created germplasm name. Users can now expect to see the correct country of origin after successfully harvesting a cross. Additionally, when crosses are harvested for the International Rice Research, a prefix of “IRRI-” is added before the country.

The following actions can now be performed reliably in HM without issue:

  1. generate the correct sequence for germplasm names and package labels when using the Add Harvest feature for crossing experiments,
  2. harvest materials with the correct seed names even after reordering the entries of an ICN experiment in the Experiment Creation tool,
  3. see male parent information in the Management tab,
  4. successfully re-do a harvest after changing one of the parents, and
  5. add harvest dates and methods, such that adding the former does not remove the latter.
