A total of 17 EBS developers and designers from the Breeding Analytics, Core Breeding, and Internal Services domains attended SOFTCON 2023. Experts from the government and private organizations presented emerging best practices in the software industry, with topics revolving around artificial intelligence and cloud computing, among others. Three EBS team members also won raffle prizes, with Jesa Nina Lacambra, a software engineer from the Core Breeding domain, taking home Php 50,000 worth of Phyton Bootcamp training credits.
On the other hand, 17 developers from the same domains participated in Decode 2023, where topics on malware, cybercrime, and digital vulnerabilities were among those explored at length in three parallel sessions. A raffle was drawn where another Core Breeding software engineer, Omner Neal Panzo, won an iPad 9th gen.
Participation in these conferences form part of the efforts to continuously improve EBS capabilities and security as it becomes the sole breeding data management system across CGIAR Research Centers.
