From 8–13 September 2025, IRRI conducted Enterprise Breeding System (EBS) End-User Training in Tanzania, engaging researchers from IRRI and TARI across Uyole and Dakawa stations. Led by Michael Gituma, the sessions enhanced digital capacity, strengthened collaboration, and empowered participants to apply EBS for more efficient, data-driven breeding practices.

From September 8–12, 2025, IRRI hosted a Train-the-Trainer program on the Enterprise Breeding System (EBS) for PhilRice selected staff. The five-day course-built skills in system management and data handling, empowering participants to strengthen institutional capacity, promote EBS adoption, and advance collaborative, data-driven breeding across national programs.

A 2-day workshop for field staff and breeders was conducted to demonstrate the cross-platform integration between EBS and the Field Book mobile application on 14-15 April 2025 at IITA Headquarters in Ibadan.

EBS, a comprehensive, integrated, and intuitive breeding data management system preferred by the CGIAR, is now powering the tropical forages program and is also set to boost breeding efficiency for cassava and beans—befitting of a modern breeding enterprise.

The 2025 BrAPI Hackathon at IRRI focused on interoperability in breeding systems, with EBS teams leading discussions on analytics, genotypic data, and AI/ML integration.

The EBS GUS team completed a Train-the-Trainer course for ICARDA and IITA, equipping 14 breeders with advanced EBS skills through hands-on virtual sessions.
